Frequently Asked Questions

+ So, who is the rancher?

A question I get asked a lot when at my direct-to-consumer markets. My answer every time is, it’s us, Morgan Lovejoy and Joe Poteat.

Joe and I are a team when it comes to ranching. We have an equal say when it comes to decision-making. On the ranch, everything we market has been under our care its entire life from start to finish. Our cows are not just a number; they are part of our family and livelihood. They are a labor of love. So, when you purchase made from us directly or indirectly, just know that there’s a story behind each animal. Thank you for allowing us to be a personal ranchers.

+ Can I visit your ranch?

Yes! We offer tours in the summertime or the opportunity to stay on our ranch in an Airbnb. To arrange a tour, please contact us at info@waygoodbeef.com

+ What does third-party verified mean?

We are honored to have our cattle third partied verified through Samson L.L.C.! As a result, our ranch claims Verified Natural Beef, Non-Hormone Treated Cattle, Age & Source, G.A.P. Certified, and Beef Quality Assurance, the highest quality of beef products.

We undergo rigorous audit processes to ensure our claims are being met each day around the ranch.

Did you know for any additional labeling on meat, it must be 3rd party verified? This process is highly detailed. Every day, from sunrise to sundown, it is on my mind. We are concerned about what our cattle eat and the history and production details as well.

G.A.P. looks at the sustainability of the land & animal husbandry meaning, cattle are on pasture for 75% of their life, have protection from extreme weather 365 days a year, & a maximum transportation time of 16 hours.

We want to be open and transparent about what we do around the ranch daily.

Follow along as we raise our beef from pasture to plate! From our Montana Ranch to your table!
